An expert in design that I admire

Imagen
Welcome to my final blog of the semester! Today we will discuss Wilhelm Wagenfeld, a recognized German industrial designer who was both a student and a professor at the Bauhaus, a famous school of arts and architecture in Germany. We will explore how his work has made a positive contribution to the history of design, emphasizing the admiration that his ideology and designs evoke. Wagenfeld was born on April 15, 1900, and died on May 28, 1990. During his time at the Bauhaus, he created the famous "MT8 Table Lamp," also known as the Bauhaus Lamp. This iconic piece represents the ideals of the Bauhaus by prioritizing functionality over aesthetic style, presenting a simple and functional design. Wagenfeld not only incorporated this ideology into his designs but also cared about the final cost of the product, aiming to make it accessible to individuals of all economic backgrounds. For me, this approach is worthy of admiration. When the Bauhaus closed due to pressure exerted by the...

A photo (or image) that is meaningful to me

Imagen
Welcome to my new blog, where I will be discussing a photo from my second year of high school. This photo represents my deep passion for the horror genre and zombies. It serves as a reflection of my emotional connection to the world of cinema and the powerful ability of art to evoke emotions. To me, it symbolizes the excitement and fascination I have for the horror genre. I find this photo intriguing as it combines two of my greatest interests: art and horror films, allowing me to visually create a harmonious blend of my preferences through drawing, something I have enjoyed since I was young. The story behind this photo dates back to my second year of high school, before the pandemic. In my art class, our teacher assigned us the task of creating a drawing of our choice. I decided to depict a zombie hand emerging from the ground, incorporating elements that I felt would complement the overall composition, such as a spider tattoo inspired by Spider-Man. After completing our drawings,...

Why did I choose my major?

Imagen
I really don't know why I chose to study design, it just caught my attention. Growing up, I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to study, because I don't like to plan things for the distant future, I only do it in the short term, because I think that doing it in the long term makes life too linear and somewhat empty. I like things to be spontaneous. The decision to study design could say it was random, as it was the third option on my list of majors (Computer Engineering, Programming, Design) and the first one they accepted, but it wasn't even going to be on the list at first, however it gave me the impulse to add it, maybe because of the things I did in art class at school that were very related to what I'm studying now. So far my experience at FAU has been pretty good and I like the major, although you have to know which professors to choose to have a better college experience.

My Favorite Piece of Technology

Imagen
One of my favorite pieces of technology are headphones, you could say that it is a simple piece, but in reality it has a certain degree of complexity, since not all are the same, there are some that sound better than others, there are also some that are used via bluetooth, it is usually used to listen to music, watch series, movies, youtube, tiktok, etc. I consider that it is a great complement for day to day when you go alone on the street, on public transport, when you have to do work or simply for leisure. At least I usually use it for these reasons almost all the time, it could be said that I spend half the time with headphones listening to different artists like My Chemical Romance, Pxndx, Glup!, Gufi, Tronic and José Madero or simply listening to song instrumentals for read a book giving it a certain atmosphere. For these reasons I would recommend its use 100%.
